Psychology
After a strong directional bar, the next session can't even escape its body — the pressure that made the big bar has evaporated. 'Harami' (Japanese: pregnant) marks gestating reversal risk, gentler than an engulfing.
Recognition
Bar 2's body sits entirely INSIDE bar 1's body; classically opposite colors. The inside-ness is the signal: range contraction after expansion.
Confirmation
Needs real confirmation — a close beyond bar 1's body in the reversal direction. Unconfirmed haramis resolve as continuations often.
Reliability
Modest alone; a first-warning pattern. Harami at an extreme + confirmation ranks decently; note its cousin INSIDE_BAR (any inside range) powers breakout tactics too.
