Marubozu
All body, no wicks: one side controlled the session from first print to last.
Single-Candle SignalsIntermediate 5 min read· Lesson 5 of 10 in Candlestick Patterns
Psychology
A bullish marubozu opens at the low and closes at the high — buyers never once let it pause. Maximum single-bar conviction; often the ignition bar of breakouts or the climax bar of exhaustion, and telling which is the skill.
Recognition
Body spans (nearly) the entire high-low range; effectively no wicks either end. Bullish = open≈low & close≈high; bearish mirror (MARUBOZU_BEARISH here).
Confirmation
Context does the confirming: a marubozu BREAKING a resistance level on volume = initiative (trend fuel); the third giant green bar after a vertical week = likely climax. Follow-through next bar separates them.
Reliability
As continuation out of bases: good. As a chase signal after extended runs: it's often the last buyer's bar. Location decides everything.
Scanner integration
This exact pattern is the MARUBOZU_BULLISH named condition here — the chart above marks every real occurrence on the symbol's history (hover a dot to verify), and one click opens it in the Scanner or the Backtest panel to test it on any symbol yourself. That last step is the honest part most books skip.
